Binsar is a scenic place with a beautiful view of the Himalayas. Located on top of Jhandi Dhar Hills, Binsar is included in the Bisar Wildlife Sanctuary. Binsar was the summer capital for the Chand Kings who ruled over the Kumaon area from 11th to 18th centuries. It was made into Wildlife Sanctuary in 1988.
Binsar is cool during summer and the monsoon rain makes the whole forest lush and rejuvenated. In winter it receives snowfall. Apart from the priceless view of snow capped Himalayan peaks like Chaukhamba, Panchachuli, Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot, nature and wildlife lovers are as much excited about the possibility of sighting some rare animals like Barking Deer, Himalayan Bear, Leopard, Musk Deer, Fox, Langur, Porcupine, Chital, Jungle Cat etc. Binsar is also home to around 200 species of birds.

The highest accessible point of Binsar wildlife sanctuary is the Zero point from where you can see the amazing view of Himalayan peaks like Trishul, Nanda Devi and Shivling.
- Almora City
Almora city is located at a distance of 30 km from Binsar. You can see and buy Kamaon handicrafts. Also enjoy the Kamaon culture, visit temples like Nanda Devi there.
