Snow leopards are also rarely seen during winter at Lahaul valley.
Lahaul and Spiti's has jutting mountains and valleys which are riverbeds carved out by different rivers. Though vegetation is rare, even the sparsest area can be covered with wild flowers during summer. In winter the mountains remain covered with thick sheet of snows.

- Tabo Monastary is referred as the ‘Ajanta of Himalayas’. Located at an elevation of 3050m, this was built in 10th Century and houses some rare collection of scriptures, pieces of arts and wall paintings.
- Spiti Valley known as the ‘Little Tibet’ is a valley amidst stern mountain cliffs. The Spiti River chiseled out this valley out of the mountains. It is a place rich with Buddhist and Tibetan cultures and traditions.
- Kibber Village is the World highest motorable Village. Kibber is only 38 Km from Tibet. The houses are made in such a way to counter the harsh climatic changes. They all look similar and they are strangely attractive.
- Keylong is the headquarter of this district. It is home to Government offices and main bazaar in Lahaul and Spiti. Better Rest house and other facilities are available here.
- Chandertal Lake is the source of river Chandar and is at an altitude of 4300m. The lake has a circumference of 2.5km and the crystal blue water at such an altitude is a pristine beauty. It is an important home for migratory birds in summer.
